Production Phase

During the Production Phase, the students will leave the experimental stage behind and produce short movies and series with higher quality standards throughout the whole movie-making process: script writing (more complex: for longer movies and/or series, involving more characters and more elaborate plots); acting (the dialogues will be in English); make-up and costumes (more elaborated); stage/scene (more varied locations, even away from the education centres); video and sound recording (more professional appearance and quality of registered sound); audiovisual edition (higher level of editing, image filtering and sound synchronisation); post-production (more challenging special effects applied to both video and sound); advertising campaign (segmented, optimised for both online and offline channels, fine-arts design based).

Besides the technical aspects, the movie subjects will include environmental issues (preservation of protected areas, sustainable habits, circular economy, Reduce-Reuse-Recycle, eco-friendly transport, green areas in urban environments, renewable energy etc.), innovation in education (pedagogy; human, material and financial resources; formal, non-formal and informal education strategies; sport in schools; necessary assets; interdisciplinary focus; STEAM approach etc.) and civic engagement (improvement of the areas surrounding the schools; increasing presence of students in the democratic process; local transport; zero-kilometre food distribution; safety issues for children and elderly people; healthy routes to school; social inclusion considerations; non-formal education public and private infrastructure; networking etc).

The participants will have total freedom when it comes to selecting the movie genre (documentary, drama, comedy, Sci-Fi, thriller, horror etc.), the format (horizontal or vertical, in line with the social media video style) and the duration (short movie or series).
All the production will be in English with English subtitles.
