During this phase the children at the three participating organisations will learn about all the aspects related to movie making: script writing, scene setup, costumes, make-up, acting, sound control, photography, recording, editing, soundtrack, post production and advertising material design.
Specifically, they will be introduced to script writing, scene setup, costumes, make-up, acting and graphic design for advertising purposes by the Art teacher; they will delve into sound control, photography, recording, editing, soundtrack and post-production through the guidance of the SC technical expert.
From October until December 2024, the pupils/students will practise creative writing, storyboards, acting technique (breathing, posture, tone, gestures etc.), scene decoration and make-up techniques. They will put in practice the acquired skills by writing and performing a Christmas play in December 2024.
From January 2025 onwards, they will get familiar with the technical aspects of movie making, starting with photography (framing, lighting, depth of field etc.), sound recording and control, video recording and editing, soundtrack creation and post production (special effects, subtitling and video-sound synchronisation).
In June 2025 they will present their first mockup movie at the school year closure event, during which they will also start a marketing campaign based on the advertising material they will design (social media posts and a movie poster) by using free online graphic design software). The first mockup movie will be in the local language with English subtitles.
Throughout the whole process, the children will share their results, give and receive feedback, make suggestions and proposals and exchange ideas through shared material on Twinspaces and monthly online video meetings. This collaboration procedure will be extremely useful not only for the movie-making learners, but also for the trainers, who will be able to compare teaching methods and materials.
